As CEO of the OMSG-Officine Meccaniche San Giorgio Spa, it’s my pleasure and privilege to inform you that this year we will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of the company, founded and grown in the Milan area.
The first building was located in San Giorgio su Legnano (from which the company takes its name), a small town not far from Milan. The company was involved in the foundry sector, flourishing in this area at the time. Shortly, my father, Vincenzo Dell’Orto, realised the potential of shot blasting machines.
We first started with small hook shot blast and rotary table machines, then in 1962 the first Tappeto Rampante®Rubber Belt Tumblast machine. From then on, the business volume, the factory and the number of employees has grown.
Sadly, in 2002 my father passed away and I then followed his path. Today, I can proudly state that we are the first Italian company and among the first in the world in our field. In 2017 we acquired one of our biggest competitors, CARLO BANFI and the company’s aim is to grow further in the coming years.
As Managing Director, I would like to express my warm thanks to the employees, the Service, the Sales network both in Italy and abroad and above all to those that allowed this to happen: our customers.
Through and thanks to them, we have been able to grow over the years and realise what was my father’s distant dream.
Quality, technology, reliability: this is what our customers are looking for in OMSG shot blasting machines and we will do our utmost to guarantee these basic characteristics of our systems for many years to come.
